An "estimate" is a knowledgeable guess at a final cost. The unforeseen can drive a price up.
A "quote" implies a pre-inspection, and is a legally binding offer to perform or provide at a fixed price.
I can do a very accurate estimate based on a client's pictures, drawings, and measurements - for free.
Quotes start out at $25 and go up if I have to go under the house, to city hall, or go online to identify something.
And listen, if you really support your team then cheerfully factor in those licensing fees for their logo on your clawfoot chaise lounge.
